Rotary has long supported the Emergency Medical Service (SAMU) and later the National Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Renal Failure (CNPTIR) through donations of dialysis equipment and generators. Yet, despite these efforts, over 2,000 patients in Côte d'Ivoire still lack access to regular dialysis, and the number of renal patients continues to rise.
In response to this growing public health challenge, the Rotary Club Abidjan II Plateaux has strengthened its commitment since 2022 by organizing screening and prevention campaigns for kidney diseases.
Today, the Club is launching an ambitious initiative — the Renal Care Medical and Social Center — a facility designed to treat and support up to 500 patients in a modern, inclusive, and compassionate environment.
